50 for $5KI know when you see 5K, you are probably thinking you're being asked to break out your running shoes for an upcoming race/walk. No worries, you can "run this race" from your couch (though we do encourage physical fitness)! The race we are "running" is the race to raise $5000 for our Medical Mercies program. Specifically, we are raising this money for supportive care for "Baby I". If you remember, "Baby I" is a 2 year-old who has Cerebreal Palsy which developed from seizures leaving him unable to walk, talk, or stand. He is receiving free medical care from Hospital Albert Schweitzer in Haiti. We are providing food for him and his grandmother, formula, diapers, medicine and trips to appointments so he has all his basic needs met to fufill God's plan for his life. He has regular appointments with the doctor and therapists to increase his physical and speech abilities. All reports are that he is making great progress and they are grateful that he can receive continued care from them and the much needed support at home. Gifts to the Medical Mercies program makes this possible. The $5000 is our budget for the remainder of the year which includes the month of July just ending for which we had to borrow funds to meet the budget. We want to raise these funds right now so they are available when needed. Join us in praying for 50 people to give a one-time gift of $100 to reach our goal of $5000! Also, pray with us for "Baby I's" health, his future, Grandma & our friend JP who has been faithfully serving "Baby I" and his grandmother since April. It was JP who asked us to help after meeting him and having his heart broken for him. I am also happy to report that the 9 year-old girl needing eye surgery that we helped thru the Medical Mercies program is doing well post-surgery!! We praise God for the successful surgery which has brought relief from the severe eye pain she was suffering from. Thank you to all who generously give. The Medical Mercies program is bringning physical healing and spiritual encouragement one relationship at a time! Finally, my family and I are enjoying vacation with our friends in the Carolinas. We are grateful for their hospitality. This wraps up a busy 2 months of ministry and brings a much needed refreshing to all of us. Starting next week, I will be sharing regular updates highlighting the fruitful time of ministry God led us thru! May God continue to be your comfort and hope!
